Now I Have Two

When I wrote my last blog entry for this blog last Tuesday, I didn’t have any prompts for my Short Story or stories for this month. But shortly after that, I got my WDC prompt. It’s the contest that I thought that it was going to be. I just didn’t know what the prompt was until now.

Most of my short stories are Science Faction. But this one can’t be because it’s about the Old West. Well, that isn’t exactly true. There are a whole lot of planets that have an Old West. And quite a few are very parallel to ours. But the last time I did that it was frowned upon as not reflecting the prompt.

I know that I’m not going to win this contest. Because I never do. But I still like a fighting chance in doing it. It’s not that I can’t write a Western. I think that I have a very good story for this month’s contest. And I’m almost halfway through it already. It’s that I’m used to laser beams, laser balls, etc. than revolvers and bows and arrows.

My WDC Short Story isn’t the only Short Story for this month. But it took almost a week for the prompt to come out on it. I’m kind of surprised about that. I expected another week or two before it came out. But I’m glad it did. It didn’t take me long to remember a Short Story that fits this prompt either. I just haven’t had too much time to work on it yet.

I have come up with a title for it. And I have written a few paragraphs about it for my own personal use. They aren’t a part of my Short Story. But it does help me in writing it. I don’t do them with every Short Story. but I do use them a lot. Especially, lately, I have. I have also written my single sentences for this Short Story. Unfortunately, that’s all I have done so far with it.

My WDC Short Story comes first. Once I get it done, I will move on to any other short stories, poems, etc. There is a very good chance that I can do both this month with a little bit of time to spare. Might even have time for a plug and a few reviews this month too. At least I probably can with my WDC Short story.

What you have just read is true. Nothing needed to be changed. After all, this has already been translated into a language that we all know and understand - English (German, French, Italian, Russian, etc.).
