Around Twelve Hundred
Around Twelve Hundred

That’s right. I wrote about twelve hundred words for my novel, Professional Eliminators, earlier today at work. Not only did I finish part four of the Introduction Chapter of this novel in just a little under two hours, but I also almost got part five finished too. I only have about two hundred words left to finish this Introduction Chapter. If I even got that many words left.

I’m very happy that I got that many written earlier today. But I’m also kind of surprised too. Even though it was a holiday here in the United States, aka Veteran’s Day, a lot of people showed up to work where I’m posted right now. I expected some of them would show up. But I didn’t expect them to start coming in just before I started my second round there. Luckily, it was my first short round.

That round was at six AM. That’s right. I’m calling the rounds instead of patrols now. Everyone else calls them rounds. So, I decided to call them that now too. I could still call them patrols if I wanted to. But it doesn’t really matter to me what I call them. Since they want it to be called rounds, that’s what I’m going to call it from now on. Who knows, I may change my mind again someday.

That’s enough about what I do at work sometimes. Now back to why I write these blogs. If anyone is still reading them. At about twelve hundred words in a twelve-hour shift, that averages around one hundred and twenty words per hour. After all, I did spend about an hour on my rounds and another half hour on my replacement showing up early. That only left me around ten and a half hours to write.

With only a couple of hundred words left to finish this Introduction, I may even get part one of Chapter One, “All Like That,” finished too. May even get into part two of this chapter. After all, I did about twelve hundred today at work. There’s no reason why I can do it again tomorrow too. Probably won’t get part one of Chapter One done. But I should be able to get most of it done too.

Thursdays and Friday mornings when I have about six hours of writing time available to me, I get about five hundred to seven hundred words written. And on the weekend with around eleven hours of writing, I get around a thousand words. If it’s not a little bit more than that. Ten and a half hours with my former replacement who likes to come in about a half hour early. I’m not sure about the new replacement yet.

I’m not sure if I can get another twelve hundred or more words written tomorrow on this novel or not. But I think that I have a very good chance of doing it. After all, if I can do it earlier today, there’s no reason why I can’t do it again tomorrow. But I’m not going to count on that happening until it does. Whether I get twelve hundred words written tomorrow or not, I’m going to get as many written as I can.
