#10 of The 12 days of Christmas - Silent Night
The Nativity - what a wonderous night. Nothing more than shepherds in a field. The King was born in a barn with several animals as His witnesses. All of a sudden, Angels were singing and praising God, exhorting the shepherds to see this miracle that God had bestowed upon man. It never ceases to amaze me about God's love for us.

"Silent Night" is about a calm and bright silent night, and the wonder of a tender and mild newborn child, words written in 1816 by a young priest in Austria, Joseph Mohr, not long after the Napoleonic wars had taken their toll.

This rendition is from "Love to Sing"

Silent Night

Silent night, holy night!
All is calm, all is bright.
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child.
Holy infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace

Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight.
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia,
Christ the Savior is born!
Christ the Savior is born

Silent night, holy night!
Son of God love's pure light.
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus Lord, at Thy birth
