Taking off the masks
Beneath the polite veneer, a wounded world cries out for truth and justice

A hurricane is raging
Breaking everything in its path
My world is changing
In the crucible of Gods' wrath

White words, a thin veneer
Over the ugliness of life
Fantasies like paint hide fear
And the wounds of strife

The masks are coming off
My soul breathes fresh air
Shaken to my core I scoff
At what I once thought fair

While politicians take selfies
A rich elite lives for itself
Wars loom and plagues tease
I take my bible off the shelf

The world turns still bleeding
Into a brand new day
I am on my knees pleading
For the grace to live Gods' way
