Sometimes…
Sometimes…

Sometimes I feel isolated
from everyone around.
A by-stander with no
wish to claim anything.
My actions noncommittal,
my mind detached..

Sounds too are muted
and I listen to silence;
silence that feels like
wisps of clouds floating
across the clear blue sky
visible in patches,
silence that brings
on unheard melodies
of overflowing mellifluence.

Sometimes I realize
happiness is not endless,
friends part and bonds
melt into gyres of time.
Yet, it leaves me with
no regrets, for I know
if things of worth disappear
with no ado, it would be easy to
give up on worthless ego,
anger and envy.

Childlike innocence, sweetness
and light will be mine again.

My new image thrills me sometimes….
