Easter
Easter

He knew not of the traitor
Innocent and serene
He partook the Last Supper.

The cross He carried, carried He
our yoke, our sins
on his blood covered back
all the way up the Calvary.

Extreme suffering and death
on the cross, mourned by the millions
this day, the day He purged our sins away,
The Good Friday.

Magdalene saw him, as did the "other Mary".
Jesus, the Christ rose with the sun
bright as the meridian
pure as " the snows of Kilimanjaro."

On this joyous Easter Sunday
let's look for colorful eggs hidden in the yard,
new hopes, new beginnings in our lives, in our hearts.
