Being Real
Can I speak to you, directly?
Why do you turn, run the other way?
Out of ear’s shot,
I’ll not strain my voice,
sweetly sing, gently ply
your poison. Why not hear,
before we’re dead
what puts a gleam in the eye
of one carefully ambling about you,
not as rigid as a zombie.
I’ll be dead, rigor mortise
instill a pale flesh
shadowed, yet fears your dark.
Needs
what your light could bring.
You sniff, distrust.
Just want to be real for awhile.
Delusion kills illusion
I’ll ever win space
in your chambers.
