A Column of Saints

Things you didn't see
were there all along,
helping hands, people past,
ancestors and ancients all the way down.
Our dead aren't done.
They live in our bones, marrrow,
strings of DNA.
They murmur the prayers
that we forgot.
Listen for the words
that make your heart sing.
Remember to look
for the things you didn't see.
