Rurouni Kenshin Live Movie Idea [07-03-01]
Nothing exciting today. Actually, today is the first day in awhile that it didn't rain! We also got our `fridge. We saw "Cast Away" today. Good movie, but a sad ending What's up with all the sad endings nowadays? Sure, in a movie like "Cast Away" it can be expected, but in many many movies I would rather have a happy and somewhat more cheesy ending than a sad one. Ah well.

I watched all the 'special features' of the "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and it got me thinking. What if someone were to go and make a "Rurouni Kenshin" live action movie? I think that would be a cool movie--if done right. To be honest, I want to be in that movie..or, I want to be either the director or script writer. I know A LOT about that series, and I think I could portray it to a degree that would be worthy of the title. The only thing I wonder: should it be done in japanese? Almost all actors from "Crouching Tiger" knew very little chinese at the beginning, yet they proceeded to make it in that language anyway. To be honest, since "Rurouni Kenshin" takes place in a confused era of Japan, it would almost HAVE to be done in original japanese. Plus, many of the jokes and meanings in the series wouldn't be translated well in English. For example.. when Kenshin says "I" in japanese, it would be literally translated to "Thee who isn't worthy".. that's quite a mouthfull.. and many Americans wouldn't understand it. The subtitles would just say "I", I guess.. or "The Unworthy One" or something of the sort.

Anyway.. i'm going to sleep now. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
