Haiku Flu 2004

(about more than just feeling bad)

Listen to the news
Vaccines were in short supply
Still I preservered

Aching head and limbs
Coughing up a lung or two
That queasy feeling

Cannot sleep at night
Tossing and turning in bed
Needing some nice rest

I had a flu shot
Innoculation you say?
Against being sick?

Government promise
Flu misery lingers on
No one says sorry

I need a refund
Where do I get my trust back?
Lots of luck with that

Too sick to do much
Weakly write bitter haiku
Glad I got that shot
