Letter from the editor

noticing newbies - newsletter header

*Star*~~~~~Welcome, Newbies!~~~~~*Star*

I'm so excited to be part of this newsletter because one of my favorite things to do is encourage authors and be humbly helpful. Please, oh, please, if you have any questions or are confused about something, don't be shy! Ask questions!

I must say, since I've joined the Noticing Newbies Committee, I have met so many nice new members! The responses to my welcomes and reviews have been unbelievably positive. In fact, I'd like to share a few...

In response to your review, nextmrsgoins sends:
Let me begin by saying that I am honored that someone holds my work in such high regard. I am beaming with pride this very moment. I have been writing for years and have never had the self confidence to submit a single poem or story to any publication. Thank you so much for your outstanding rating, kind words and generous donation of 300 GP's. Until now I never felt like a true writer. Your words have brought me joy and a feeling of selfworth. God bless you.
Love,
Word Warrior

Thank you so much for reviewing this. I really appreciate it. I was dying to get some feedback.
Thanks for the suggestions. I will try to improve the poem with your ideas.
I'm glad you liked the last four lines. That's my favourite part too. Unicorn

Thank you so much for the gift points. It really means a lot to me that someone
enjoys my writing. All my life I have just written kids stories so it is great
to write something new. Also I want to say thank you for telling me what i need
to improve on. I'm sure it will help my writing a lot. bubbalov27

sincerely,
GGirl

In response to your review, rena_kunisaki sends:
thank you very much for the encouragement. ^_^ i've had some people tell me i'm too young to even think about becoming a writer and its nice to have supportive people. thank you also for the GPs, they are much appreciated. i've always loved writing and poetry so it's good to see someone as nice as you on writing.com, i think i may have finally found a place that accepts my age. ^_^;;;
Thanks Again,
Rena

Ask & Answer

The question asked most this week was...
What do I do with Gift Points?

Most members use gps for awarding other authors for an item that may have touched them in a special way.... or perhaps a 'thank you' for a great review. Gift Points may also be saved for a membership upgrade or to purchase Writing.com products. Gps may also be bought, won, donated to forums, or awarded.

For detailed information, I'd like to recommend a great resource which is located in your Writing.com window in the upper left.... It says Site Navigation. Click on Item Jumps. Now scroll to 1. Getting Started. Here you will find a wealth of information, including what to do with Gift Points!

*Star* Now I have a challenge for you! I love to read BIO Blocks when I visit portfolios but I’ve noticed many of you have not filled yours out yet. All you have to do is click into My Account and then in the right column, click on Change Account Text & Special Items. It's easy! You can make your BIO funny, serious, or in between. Be creative, if you like. You can change it as many times as you wish.

*Heart* Thank you SO much for dropping by! *Heart*
