Little Things
So, what did I find yesterday to make the day better? More than I anticipated actually. Only small things but here they are...

1. Reading another author's blog. Someone who seemed to have a hell of a lot of problems compared to me; a humbling experience. Left an encouraging comment of course.

2. I have a female blackbird who waits for me to put food out every morning. She's very tame and we always pass a little time together. Yesterday, she arrived with a male in tow, looking at me as if to say 'Well, what do you think?' Told her he was very handsome, they'd make beautiful eggs together but not to make a life time commitment. First day of spring today; whatever the weather, the birds preparing to nest is always soul restoring.

3. Decided to step on the scales after a long absence. We both screamed. Gave me renewed determination to lose some weight before summer. So ended up taking an unplanned bike ride. I'm not an experienced or keen cyclist but it wasn't as bad as I thought. Also took the longer walk to my parent's so all in all, an improvement in exercise level. Now I have stated my aim to lose weight in here, I hope it will give me some inspiration to succeed. I'll never be fit but I don't want to be fat as well!

4. I was telling my mother I'd love to take a holiday alone but what would I tell hubby? Her casual reply 'Just tell him you're popping down to the shops,' creased me up for some reason. At 80, she has her problems but still comes out with the odd gem. Bless her.

5. My sister wasn't as annoyed with me over a remark I made last week as I'd imagined, so that restored some feel good factor. I'm too bloody sensitive.

If you've nodded off after that I don't blame you. Didn't feel too overjoyed last night and not exactly bouncing this morning but it's slightly better than yesterday, so I'll just keep on looking for those little surprises. Think I may be in store for a nasty one when I confront the mirror in a minute. lol Have a good Monday; I can't wait to get to the supermarket. All that diet food - mmmmmmmm luvverly!
