COFFEE TABLE
COFFEE TABLE

[About the poet's coffee & writing table,on which his poems are penned]

Each morning, throughout the year,
Every day, in and out,
You have been privy to thought
And emotions I spout.

In my hour of solitude,
When all else are asleep,
You are the only one whose
Company I do keep.

You and my pen and paper,
A cup of black coffee,
Is all that I need to make
My poetic copy.

I must write my next poem,
And, in the morning post
To my publisher lest he
May, me, verily roast.

Roasted beans, rusted table,
Do make a heady wine,
Which makes my thoughts thoroughly
Mingle and intertwine.

My thoughts mix up and weave a
Web of poetic dream,
As at my coffee table,
I sip coffee with cream.
