Safe Landing

Just about caught up on sleep after a long night flight home and can't believe how hot it is in England. Not the sort of heat we enjoyed in Rhodes; much more oppressive and sapping. Very unusual for the first day of Wimbledon; normally it rains!

I suspect I'm going to be a bit of a Rhodes bore for the next few days. It was a lovely break, all over far too soon and we didn't get to see as much as we'd have liked. Maybe next time. (everything crossed) It's a beautiful island, a wonderful climate and steeped in history, culture and tradition. I've taken loads of photos but can't download them all so will post a few a day over the next week or so.

We arrived in the early hours of Sunday morning and as it was a last minute booking we had no idea where we'd be staying. On arrival we were informed we'd be at the 'Atlantica Princess' but still had no idea which part of the island we were on! We watched the sunrise over the pool from our balcony and had about three hours sleep. Next morning we explored the hotel and the area of Ialyssos.

I had a problem on landing back in England due to travelling on an American Passport. It seems I needed a residency certificate but no one had informed me. I've been granted two months residence and now it appears I have to pay for the additional documentation which my lack of funds could well do without! I wonder what would happen if I don't do it - deportation? Watch out folks, you could end up with a lodger!

Had a quick look round my favourite journals last night but it will take a while to get up to date, especially with the Wimbledon Championships being on for the next two weeks. I need more hours in the day again.
