A LOVE STORY
A LOVE STORY

[We met. We loved. We departed. But, memories never part.]

I was lonely, bored with myself,
Not sure why or, for whom I lived.
My life was a rudderless ship,
With no aim, no path or purpose.

Into my life you came one day,
Like a flower in wilderness;
Like, in the darkness, a full moon,
Like, from the heaven, a fragrance.

I thought you were just made for me.
I loved you so, more than myself.
I dreamt that we would be one and
That we would blossom together.

But that was not destined to be.
By others,you were distracted.
You chose a different path and
I was left to myself again.

My love, you are with me no more,
But with me are your memories.
I will cherish them for ever;
They are now but a part of me.

My love story is not unique.
This is the fate of love often.
But has this been a tragedy?
No, knowing you was heavenly.
