I'm such an ASS!
What is wrong with me?

Today, in scroll, I noticed a black suitcase's, not so swift, grammer and proceeded to send her
an email asking if she was deaf. She told me that she had never been asked that before
but had LD and hoped I knew what that meant. ( I'm thinking Learning Disability?) I felt like
shit and wanted to logout and run away. The poor girl is 17 yrs old and I'm this rude bitch who
has scarred her for life.

I tried explaining that I work at a deaf school and that she had perfectly written ASL .(American
Sign Language) Blah Blah Blah... I'm a loser and didn't mean to offend. I haven't heard
back from her and I can't help but think her mother might call my house and "go off" on me.

Deaf people are very blunt and don't waste any effort beating around the bush. They get
to the point in as few words as possible. Deaf people are often viewed as rude by the
hearing community and this is where I get in the most trouble. I am around deaf people
at least 9 hours a day and then I leave campus and have to become hearing again. I have
to type hearing, talk hearing, think hearing and be hearing! IT'S HARD! Deaf vs Hearing!
They are two totally different worlds.

I hate this entry and I still feel rude. I'm tired of trying to explain....I don't even know what I'm
trying to explain. I guess the bottom line is this: I'm sorry to the blackcase and I need to think
before I speak.
I'm tired of hearing that too! My mom always told me that my mouth would
get me in trouble and that I needed to practice thinking before engaging my mouth.

It's the same ol' same ol'!
G'nite,
