It is hard to walk
when looking back.

One trips on the uneasiness and stones
of paths unknown. ‘Tis wise to walk onward, eyes fixed
forward. Ah, but know, alack.
The memories like dogs still follow.

At path’s end one sits with thoughts.
looks back o’er deeds undone,
regrets without the wrath
of youth to blind.

But ’tis hard to fly to stars
with burdens that one packs.
Don’t trip over life.
Don’t walk looking back!
