My First Hair Cut
I recently joined a yahoo writing group that sends a 10 minute writing prompt every day. Today's prompt was my first visit to the Hair dresser. While I don't remember my first visit to the hair dresser (my mother tells me that this incident resulted in it) I do remember my first hair cut.

I give myself my first hair cut. I was about three or four or five and setting on my grandmother's bed cutting paperdolls out of the Ward's catalogue. I decided to cut my own hair. I took the scissors and butchered my hair. I didn't have a lot of hair at that time so any missing was going to be noticed, never mind that when I cut my hair it wasn't a professional job.

When I saw the hair on the bed I decided that my mother would notice the hair on the bed, so I piled the hair in one spot and placed the Ward's catalogue on top of it. I wanted to hide the hair so my mother wouldn't notice it right away. She didn't notice the hair on the bed, she noticed the missing hair on my head.
