Amy's broom
Amy's broom

She vibrated with wet hair
broom poised to sweep away
the sentimentality,
restore fresh air.

She had a horror once.
Dumped him for a life.
We all have strife she warned.
And scattered us helter-skelter.

She quivered, poised
to scream to all in sight
that Jason once breathed too,
that Death comes only at the end

and no one should die
without family or friend
in a homeless shelter.
