Read me!
One thing I've noticed about reading the Bible is every once in a while, one or two verses seem to pop out, dance around the page waving tiny little arms and yelling "Read me, Read me!"

That happened when I was reading one of the daily lessons for my Disciple class. This particular day we were required to read 2 Samuel about King David's reign. Reading it as I would a history book, I did not expect to read anything like this:

"All of us must die eventually. Our lives are like water spilled out on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. But God does not just sweep life away; instead he devises ways to bring us back when we have been separated from him." 2 Samuel 14:14

I thought to myself, how cool that God would withhold His judgement and wrath to give us the time to come back to Him.

I wrote it in my notes to share it with the rest of the class. When I mentioned it, everyone stopped talking (and with this group, that hardly ever happens!) to look it up the verse in their own Bible. I watched, fascinated.

And then I smiled when I realized God wanted all of us to notice that lovely tidbit describing God's patience for those He loves, not just me.
