CANCER
CANCER

I won’t fear you, O Cancer,
Though you be foul and vile.
I won’t make you powerful,
By myself being servile.

You have too many a face
And have a stealthy gait.
Much too often you surface
When it is rather late.

You cause pain and weakness and
Disrupt body function.
Such suffering does remain
Often without unction.

But my pain or suffering
Cannot make you potent.
If to your too cruel threat,
I refuse to relent.

You may weaken my body;
You can’t win my spirit.
It’s my right to enjoy life;
I will never leave it.

* It is a scientifically observed and proven fact that positive attitude towards cancer is associated with favourable outcome and neuro-immuno-endocrinological studies have demonstrated some mechanisms underlying this phenomenon.
