POET’S LEAGUE
POET’S LEAGUE

Rhyme and rhythm, rhyme and rhythm,
Rhyme and rhythm you should
Well ensure, if in this
League enter you would.

Come, join the Poet’s League,
Take the prompt and write.
Dream and feel and let your
Fancy take a flight.

All your heart, all your heart,
All your heart, you must
Pour in your poems for
Gaining reader’s trust.

Come, join the Poet’s League,
Cry and smile and brood.
Pain, hope and sadness are
Poet’s staple food.

Write ahead, write ahead,
Write ahead, don’t stop.
Forget the writer’s block,
Let sweat and tears drop.

Come, join the Poet’s League,
Drops of sweat and tears
Will shape into poems,
Fetching readers’ cheers!

· Written in abcb, 6-5-6-5 format

* The tune of this poem is on the pattern of “The Charge of the Light Brigade” by Lord Tennyson, http://eserver.org/poetry/light-brigade.html

Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
