Just play: don't look at your hands!

my day
I have about 15 minutes before I have to leave to go back into town for CPR class. Have avoided taking one for a long time, and it's now mandatory. I think I'll have to change the order of things though. I'll have to grab the phone before I start breaths; because once I'm down I might not make it up, not unless there's a convenient chair or table to lean on. Not impossible, but...oh well, maybe I can count on adrenaline to give me the big push.

Promised BIll I'd use one of his favorite corny jokes. After you 'shake and shout' (as I remember the procedure from 15 years ago), you kneel down to hear if they're breathing. He likes to put his ear next to Resusci-Annie's mouth, and then get up and yell, " She says she can't feel her legs!" (Resusci-Annie dolls don't have legs.)

My Day's Verses

Solitary hawk,
his regular lookout post
an oak tree's dead limb.

Summer Lanturnes

Birds,
Beaks open,
Sit panting
In the hot air
Rest

Rise
At nine
One more time
No more sleeping
Late

Don
Stern face
Business-like.
Play is over
Darn.
