MONSTERS: a sonnet
MONSTERS: a sonnet

Be silent, you monsters of memories.
I can’t endure your jabbing any more.
Calm down and let my mind be at some ease.
You’ve tortured me enough through vileness your.

You reflect all that in the past I did,
Or what others have done in life to me.
The past is past and now I do forbid:
Don’t play these games so evil and dirty.

Let me forget the past and look ahead.
Let me live now only in this instant.
I wish you, monsters of memory, dead.
For such cursing, never would I repent.

I can’t have peace as long as you’re alive.
I banish you. Go, die. Let me survive.
