Missing!
Has anyone seen my brain?

I misplaced it somewhere. I looked between my ears and I saw nothing but black, and I kept hearing this strange sucking sound, kinda like my vacuum cleaner . . .

I tore the house apart looking for my flown-the-coop mind, and I saw not even a slimy, gray track indicating its direction of escape.

When I asked my hubby he shrugged and said, “I never noticed it was gone.”

I checked at work, and I saw not a sign there either.

So here I am, the very last place I’ve been in the last few days, and I see no indication I left it here, either.

I miss my brain.

I wish it would come home.

I have a book to write starting today, and I can’t do it without my brain.

So if you happen to see a little gray thing looking lost – or even happy at being freed from the constraints of my solid, dense skull – urge it to come home (either kindly or capture it with a butterfly net, it doesn’t matter to me). Tell it I promise to feed it well with lots of coffee and candy.

Thanks.
