MY THREE WISHES

MY THREE WISHES



Wishes are just that, products
Of mere wishful thinking.
But for just this reason why
Feel shy of expressing.

Hunger and poverty should
Be eradicated.
For this end my wishes are
Fully dedicated.

First of all I would like the
US to be restrained
From acting as global cop;
Its ambitions be chained.

My second wish, certainly,
Would be that Islam may
Be modernized and from its
Fundamentalism sway.

As my third wish I would like
Many a world resource
May be shared equitably,
Without any remorse.

If the above wishes are
Granted somehow, I’m sure,
Hunger and poverty would
In this world be no more.
