Hap and his girls
Didn't get to fly because of the weather,*Frown* and the drive was windy and rainy, but it was great to get to see my son and his wife and girls. It seems like forever since we've been over there. They live past Portland, a five hour drive.

The Columbia Gorge is beautiful, even in the pouring rain. A certain part of it, near the falls, is rainy more often than not. Although the trees here are mostly brown by now, the gorge still has the yellow maples that contrast with the dark evergreens. The rock formations through the gorge are great too, big extruded masses of old lava flows. When the big glaciers came through here, they washed a lot straight on out to the sea, leaving some great little waterfalls clearly visible from the highway.
