Thankful Thursday
11 Qawl 163 B.E. – December 3, 2006

OK, so it is Sunday and my Thankful Thursday submission to the Yahoo journal-writing group I belong to is a little late. That’s life, I just complete the individual project for my EDU 640 Instructional Technology. Now to catch up on some stuff I’ve been putting off for the past few day, starting with the Thankful Thursday entry.

1. Today I am thankful for green salsa with a microwaved egg sandwich. Not a fried egg sandwich, because the stovetop doesn’t work properly and I haven’t had a chance to get it fixed. Therefore, whatever I fix has to be in the microwave.

2. Today I am thankful for the 99-cent store that sells mixed tropical fruit. I use the tropical fruit in Jell-O. I still have some of the Jell-O left so tomorrow I can have that for desert.

3. Today I am thankful for coffee. I have been two weeks without it, I was beginning to dream about steaming cups of hot coffee. Coffee is no longer a luxury, but rather a necessity. I like my coffee in the morning.

4. Today I am thankful that I live in Las Vegas and not some place where it is snowing and really cold. It’s cold enough here as it is. Thursday and Friday night it got down below freezing for the first time this year.

5. Today I am thankful for having gas in the car. I can now drive all over town, at least until the little red stupid (I know that’s not what the light is actually call, but at this point I’m having difficulties spelling) light comes on and tells me I’m low on gas again.

6. Today I am thankful the good mood I’ve had since Friday. I’ve been so worried about things that it’s effected my mood and made me depressed. However, since we went out to eat Friday at Chipolte I’ve been in a good mood. I don’t know whether it was having a coupon for a free burrito or what, but I am in a much better mood.

7. Today I am thankful for my internet connection, even though it kicks me off periodically. In fact it’s been kicking me off more lately than ever, but that’s OK because there are advantages to have a phone connection and a modem.

8. Today I am thankful for insomnia. If it weren’t for that I would have no hope of ever catching up on reading my e-mails and posts; not to mention writing stories and composing poetry.

9. Today I am thankful for not being worried about anything for once. It’s been a long time since I sit down and typed without being stopped by my worrying and obsessing over bills and an overdrawn bank account. I still have the bills and the overdrawn account, I just not worried about them. Maybe I’m not facing reality, if that is the case then I will happily go through another few days or the rest of the month not worrying.

10. Today I am thankful for the ability to be thankful, the good sense to say prayers of gratitude and the ability to type out my gratitude list.
