Christmas 2006
8 Masa’il 163 B.E. - December 19, 2006

Music reverberates through the aisle of malls
Each chord carrying memories of Christmases past;
Ringing bells greet shoppers at the entrances of stores and
Red kettles hang on stands, waiting for spare change;
Yearnings for Peace on Earth penetrate the bones of winter.

Children wait in line to see Santa Clause
Hoping he will bring them their hearts desire;
Religious services planned for Christmas Day and
Invitation flyers delivered to neighborhood homes;
Soup kitchens plan holiday meals, while
The homeless stand on street corners begging for food and change.
Military personnel video tap greetings to send back home, which
Air on all the T.V. networks;
Santa plans his Christmas Eve flight to avoid no fly zones.
