Snow!
I'm dreaming of a white . . .
                             New Year . . . ?

Not really but I got one. This picture I took first thing this morning out of my kitchen door:

And it's still snowing! According to the ever-trustworthy (HA!) weatherman, this storm is expected to continue through Sunday, leaving 2-5 inches. We're already past two.

See that little pine tree to the left? This is a close up of it:

That is a white pine standing at present no more than 18 inches tall. Full grown, these can reach up to 80 feet! Looks like its living up to its name about now, huh?

Right now, I'm really happy to have snow. Instead of everything looking dead, the air has a quiet, hushed feeling; almost like the world is sleeping.

Change of subject!

PastVoices and I discussed hidden - or not so hidden - messages in movies brought about by yesterday's entry.

Bruce Almighty is one I found many messages in such as God wants to have a relationship with us above all else, he loves laughter, and none of us can hope to do what he does and not screw things up.

Neverending Story is another. I cried when I first saw it, and even a few times after. The message I got out of that was the importance of never losing our capacity to dream. Doing so is a form of death.

What movies have you found unexpected messages in?
