Xiao Ling began to panic. If he didn't get help soon, the old man might die! But there was no one at sight... She suddenly remembered about the scale which was still clutched tightly in her hand. If she gave the scale to the old man, he might survive - but what about her father...?

After a brief pause, she decided that saving the old man's life was of more importance. And so, she fed the scale to the old man. After awhile, the old man's wound vanished and he woke up.

The old man didn't seem to remember what happened to him, and Xiao Ling didn't tell what she did either. She then silently stood up and walked away in despair, leaving the confused old man alone...
