Xiao Ling was overjoyed and thanked the generosity of the dragon. She then bid him farewell and ran straight home for she couldn't wait to give the cure to her father.

But on her way back, just before she reached her house, Xiao Ling spotted someone lying on the ground. She felt sympathetic and quickly rushed to the person's aid.

It was an old man who was lying there. She knelt beside him and noticed that he was unconscious, his head smeared with fresh blood. "Oh, my! Did he fall down and hit his head?" Xiao Ling wondered to herself.
