48 degrees and it is raining...perfect...just perfect.
I am not a happy camper this morning. Haven't been since late last night, well, early today.

I BLEW IT! I TOTALLY BLEW IT! For 21 days, I was involved with Ter's Poetry Challenge. Every day we had to write a poem, often using certain words and not using others. So every day I cranked out a poem. Some of them I am inordinantley proud of. Some were on the silly side. Some were what I call 'poetry' vs a mere poem. And, to me, there is a distinction. Poetry is an upper level of the category 'poem,' with chosen levels of meaning, word play, obvious and not so obvious messages.

Yesterday was a mish-mash of ups and downs and frazzling frustrations! Waiting for people to call back (who finally did at 10pm--way too late) and needing emails to do other things which tied me to the puter so i couldn't do Ken's birthday project that I'm building so that i couldn't do other things I needed to do INCLUDING writing the poem for the last day of the challenge. Ken gets home from work and now I am trying to write said poem and talk to insurance people and talk to him and...and...and.

Well, I write a killer poem, read it to Ter who is blown away by it and we are happy.

I post it, fuss it up, as a killer pic with it and then start to get ready for a big night out with all of Ken's buddy's at a local pub for karaoke. I'm out of the shower for 5 minutes when his buddy calls, saying that he's already there. Ken says, ok, we'll be on the road in 10. I'm in the bathroom, soaking wet. 10 minutes? I think not! Anyway, I'm dashing to get ready for the night out and drying hair and finding clothes (because I, of course, don't like the first clothes I had on) and we were out the door...me, minus make-up or perfume or.....

Meanwhile, back at the poem, Ter goes to check them for appropriate number of descriptive words and the 'included' word. Mine doesn't have 'final or finally' in it. I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT INCLUDING THAT BLASTED STUPID DUMB WORD!
sO, AFTER 21 DAYS OF TRYING TO DO THIS, I BLOW IT AT THE LAST MOMENT!!!!

STUPID, STUPID!!!!! I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOO DUMB! :(

aLL THAT WORK.....BLAST DRAT!

Yeah, I wrote some excellent stuff...but at the last minute.....sigh...I was in tears when I found out. Might seem kind of silly, but I wanted my stuff featured in the newsletter. I wanted that merit badge. I worked hard for it, ya know? I am so disappointed in me. And poor Ter who had to toss my butt out of the challenge at the 11th hour. I feel so bad for her. She was upset too. I want to break something. I son't swear, but I sure was last night!

On the up side, Ken and I had a blast at the pub and a bunch of his friends showed up and he sang (!!!!!!!!!). I got a video of it...grin...if it were a wee bit brighter, we'd have put it on u-tube lol. that would have been a kick.

ok, i feel better now :) sorta kinda
