Is Murphy Infectious?
It's a rare day when hubby and I are both free for any length of time to do anything different, but it just so happened today he wasn't playing golf, my parents didn't need anything doing, I hadn't arranged to see Big Pam and the sun was shining.

So, bright spark here suggested going over to Staffordshire to Trentham Gardens to look for new garden furniture, have lunch, peruse the fabulous shopping outlet where there's a shoe shop from heaven, take a stroll around the lake then maybe drop in to see my sister. In theory it sounded like my kind of day.

We found a patio set we liked, then decided to have lunch while the staff arranged for the set to be taken to the payout. The food was rather expensive but a luxury lunch is something we rarely have. I nearly always have a cheese sammich when eating out, but today I chose chicken in wholegrain mustard for a change, as it looked so tempting.

What I hadn't realised was the roll it came in was rather a hard, crusty one; something I generally avoid. Three bites into it and crack; one broken tooth. Looking on the bright side at least I didn't swallow it and my calorie intake was severely reduced.

After swiftly paying for the purchases and waiting half an hour while hubby huffed, puffed and cursed as he worked out a way to get the patio set loaded into the car, it was a mad dash back home to the dentists. So, instead of drooling over shoes, relaxing in lovely surroundings and seeing my sis I've ended up sitting in the dentist's chair. He says to be careful what I eat for the next twenty-four hours.

That's a shame as tomorrow I'm going to Newark to see my friend crackedbizkit and we're planning on a pub lunch. Looks like soup for me then, but looking on the bright side again, it won't affect my vino intake.

It's ironic really as this morning I discovered one of those rare review things in my inbox for a comedy story I wrote set in a dental surgery. Must have been an omen. If I receive a review for one of my murder or horror stories overnight do you think I should cancel my outing tomorrow? But looking on the bright side yet again, if I find one for one of my more erotic pieces...well, I might just decide to set off earlier than planned. *Wink*
