Perservering Friendship

So, one of my favorite radio stations is having the L.A. cast of Wicked come to their studio on Wednesday. The radio station is selecting a listener and a friend to hang out that morning, have breakfast — hear some of the performances from the musical — right there. So, the catch is to relate a brief story about the perserverence of your friendship.

My longest-standing friend will be moving out of state in just a couple of weeks. There's plenty of stories to be told. The most re-told is how I'm married to the man that was first her boyfriend. I'm sure it's no coincidence, but she's also the person who gave me Gregory Maguire's Wicked to read. Is this gathering meant to be too?
