Chapter Five:

‘Okay, so you don’t have an idea about who committed the robbery?’ Mark asked Tina Squelia, who was the lady who had alerted the police twenty minutes before hand.
         ‘No.’ She replied.
‘Okay,’ said Mark. ‘So he told you to get away from the desk and give him $7 000?’
         ‘$8 000 in $100 notes.’ corrected Tina.
         ‘$8 000. Did you get a numberplate?’
         ‘No.’ Sighed Tina
‘Thank you,’ said Mark. ‘That’s all. You can go now.’
Tina left the room, clearly glad to go.
‘Okay,’ said Mark after Tina left. ‘Any one else?’
‘Um… the manager.’ Replied Kelly.
‘Okay call her in.’

The manager came in and sat down.
‘Okay,’ said Mark. ‘Name?’
‘Sharon Parbak.’
‘Description of the man?’
‘Slim and a bit tall.’
‘And he wanted $8 000?’
‘Yes.’
‘Now, the car?’
‘Umm… it was white.’
‘Number plate?’
Sharon told him the numberplate. ‘But I can’t remember the last number.’
‘Okay,’ said Mark looking at his notes. ‘You can go. But come back if you remember anything.
Sharon left.
‘Right, get the next person. Maybe some one got the last number.’ Said Mark.
‘Yeah, I’ll get someone.’ said Kelly.

Kelly left the room and began searching for someone.
‘No, no, no, yes!’ said Kelly pointing at each teller.
‘Excuse me,’ said Kelly. ‘Can you come with me?’
‘Ye-yes.’ Replied the teller.
They went into the back room and Mark began the interview.
‘Hello. I’m detective senior constable Zamby. I need you to answer some questions. First of all I need your name.’
‘Um… yes, Anna Pi-Pilly.’
‘Okay, did you get a number plate?’
‘No.’
‘Okay, what did the man look like?’
‘I don’t know.
         ‘Where were you?’
         ‘In the back – ’
‘Detective!’ Sharon rushed in. ‘I’ve got the last number! It’s 8! I got it –’ She paused as she noticed Anna Pilly.
‘Oh, you don’t have to interview Anna! She was at the doctors weren’t you Anna.’
‘Yes Sharon,’ muttered Anna.
Anna left.
‘Poor girl,’ said Sharon as she left. ‘She owes lots of money in debt and her house is on mortgage.
‘What do you think of Anna?’ Mark asked Susan
‘I don’t know. I wonder why she didn’t say she was at the doctor?’
‘Maybe she was trying to.’
‘Oh well, Kelly, can you find the car owner?’
‘Yes sir!’ Kelly said with a grin and saluted.
