A Golden Bowl In The Sudden Distance

A man offers his rare Ming Dynasty teapot.
I tell him of another bought,
inscribed Maya.
He says, "Earl Grey, Jasmine, & Oo-long."
Then he says, "Wanna Grove."

I am blending with the blues over Oxford
Street in the distance. It is pouring
rain.
With the power of love,
no, my voice does not always lean so
analytically, I dream of rubber galoshs
and an umbrella with yellow submarines all
over it.
A schoolgirl's saddles shoes once pumped
piano lessons. This is the girl who
winningly vanishes
in a glossy snapshot
with a collection of fancy sheet music.

Rain subsides. Spicy tears and slashes
of the sun's rays break through.
