Amidst the heaviness of life, this lighthearted poem is simply meant to evoke a smile.
BATHTUB DILEMMA

I had planned to hop into bed at eight
but decided instead to luxuriate.

In a tub of hot water, I tried to relax
while fending off pesky snack attacks.

As I lay there soaking, the woes of my day
slowly, silently melted away.

It was all so soothing, I was pulled to stay
but I also wanted to hit the hay.

What a dilemma, I couldn’t choose
remain submerged or get ready to snooze?

I chose to do both and nodded off
’til awakened with a jerk from a single cough.

Now I was worried that I could drown
yikes … I might not even need my nightgown!

As luck would have it, fate stepped in
thank you cold water for saving my skin.
