I'm a joiner.
Well, I joined up at the Writers Cafe, where my fellow ABNA vets are all gathered. Since I've taken the time to get to know them, this is the perfect way for us to keep in touch. We all have this one thing in common. We were the first 5,000 entrants into Amazon's very first Breakthrough Novel Award contest. That is pretty cool in my book.
I've even read a few of the semi finalist. I must say that I am stunned by a few of the excerpts I've read. Here's my opinion. It all came down to what two people thought of what they read . Two people. So if one liked it and one didn't where did that leave the MS? Nobody knows. I can't waste my time worrying that two people didn't like my book.
On WDC alone, I've had over 15 love my book. That is all I need. I know setting and grammar are issues for me, but learning them, and applying them to my work will certainly strengthen it.
I am working on my techinique, and polishing up things in my port. I am a writer, and I won't give up.
Have a good weekend everyone. Stay warm. It's cold outside. Oh, perfect time for a cuddle alert!
