After Monday morning's range-top fire and being  without power from then till Wed. evening, we now have a renovated kitchen, a new "used" rental stove so can cook again lol (not me, definitely!) Also son-in-law rebuilt cabinets and is making a pantry where the double oven had stood next to the range.

So a couple of good quotes to inspire your weekend:

"From childhood's hour I have not been as others were."

Edgar Allan Poe

"There were women, and men, too, in whom volition and achievement appeared contiguous."

Reginald Hill, "Pascoe's Ghost," novella 1979, reprinted in the 1994 collection Asking for the Moon

"There were flurries in the gusty wind which tore at the clouds and sent bunches of stars scurrying across the sky."

Reginald Hill, "Pascoe's Ghost," novella 1979, reprinted in the 1994 collection Asking for the Moon
