and will be writing to a picture prompt for the next 15 days----writing a max. of 15 minutes. I recently read a quote that stated one's life work could be written in 15 minutes a day. Decided I could probably slog out something for 15 minutes a day.

I have been haunted by Rumi's poem (find it in my previous post) The Nothing of RoseLight---and shamelessly borrowed his phrase for today's prompt.

I keep envisioning the heart aglow with rose light, akin to the pictures of the Sacred Hearts of Mary and Jesus. Also, with the chakra system, the heart chakra is most often associated with the color of rose or green.

One of my favorite gemstones is watermelon tourmaline---it is a bi-color stone of rose and green striation. I've always intuitively felt that this stone has healing power for our heart chakra.

Glass

If our hearts
were crystalline,
like glass
they would break
along predictable
shatter patterns.

But our hearts
are made
from the nothing
of rose light.
If punctured, or smashed,
whether particle or wave,
the light fragments
into photons
riding over
a bumpy landscape,
channeling and branching
into corners and crevices.

When released
by forgiveness
or kindness
they return
to the flow.
