You Make Me
Like the summer sun setting over highrises
with little daughters of Oshun twirling ropes
slapping hands and whispering secrets
drying from the unwrenched fire hydrant
and buzzing like the fireflies
ushering in the sparkling twilight that are your eyes
you make me smile

Imagining your hair between my fingers
as I play with each strand of "the way God intended'
listening to your voice escape from parted lips
tickling my senses and loosening my spirit
caressing my heart and touching my soul
you make me calm

My eyes tracing your neck from earlobe to shoulder blade
longing to make trail like Hansel with kisses
or just to cool my hands with living water
and spread the contentment that I feel over any stress
and as we watch this sunset together
I can hear my mind express homage for being blessed
you make me thankful

Waiting for the day to find porches to sit on
or parks to walk through
or moons to vibe from
or melodies to fall in love to
or lips to kiss
and faces to caress
you make me long
for you

To understand my words, you must understand my mind. To understand my mind, you must first understand my words. Balik737
