Well, this was some tale.

I started reading, captivated by the title. The firt paragraph left me with my mouth hanging unattractively open in astonishment. How could this happen? How could this be?

Somewhere n the middle of paragraph four, I started to chuckle, and by the time I was finished the the fifth paragraph I was approaching hysterics.

What makes us young'uns thinks we have al te adventure and fun? That is the question.

I enjoyed your interesting tale very much and admire the way you write. Your style is crisp and clear with just the right amout of humor spliced in to keep the smile fresh upon my face. (I love parenthetical barbs!)

Just wonderful reading! Wonderful!

Now, you have left me with a puzzle defined by the words written in red... How cruel! *LAUGH*

This is a tragic tale of love, death, and healing that had me in tears from the middle to the end. I have much to share with you about this, but I think I will email you privately.

Your opener states there is an educational aspect to this story, and I think many will perceive this to be the medical tidbits you drop in - so well, by the way. And they well may be correct, but I think that is not the educational aspect of the piece. I think the medical vocabulary and well-placed definitions bring it all to life, but their purpose is to inform. The education you have to offer in tis piece comes in the last few lines, well worth waiting for and reading slowly.

This was one of the most touching stories I have ever read - here or elsewhere. I am enriched by it on more levels than I can share, and I will not soon forget it.

Once again, it has been an honor.
Please do Write on!
Carol

Whenever I enter someone's port and see that they have stories of their life, that is the place to which I am drawn, and how I came to read this lovely little piece with the big message of HOPE!

From what you have written here, I can see you have had some experiences in life that should have knocked you down and out for the count. Yet you managed to, not only stay standing -albeit leaning occassionally-, but you found something to pick you up and get you going.

It rings of a touching and sincere truth that cannot be ignored.

Your writing is error free with a clear, intelligent pace and style and a very specific, lovely voice that is uniquely yours. Admirable to say the least! (I find myself unattractively jealous, because I am still searching for my writing voice!)

For me, this line says it all: "...I am contemplating the possibility of a whole new future!"

Good for you, Jeanno! I am proud of you and proud to know you!

It has been an honor.

Lady, I like the way you write!

What a wonderful story about your dad and his experiences with Bonnie and Clyde! Once again, you show your raw talent in weaving an unforgettable tale in only a few words.

It has everything a story needs: Reality, Fun, Sadness, Levity, History, Description, and Local Flavor; uh, not to mention a very well defined, but smooth flowing beginning, middle, and end! *LAUGH*

I find it so delightful, I decided to point out a few things I think might make it a tinge clearer at a juncture or two. Please accept or reject them as you see fit. It is your story.

When my mom died[,] my dad’s life drastically changed comma

He lived in the house in return for maintaining the house it and the surrounding woods using the word "house" twice in close proximity to itself stops the reader.

I picked this line out because it was my favorite. What a picture it brings to mind! You do this so well!

I have fond memories of him driving the back roads of Kentucky in Clyde, with a plume of dust marking his progress.

I must write a dialog yet tonight, or else I would just stay and tarry in your beautiful port. I'll be back later in the week. *THUMBSUP*

Greetings croaton . I am Carol Marsella, and it is my pleasure to read and review "The Fishing Trip

As a member in round 3 of the "AUTHORS' SPOTLIGHT - Season 6, I am required to prepare some public reviews for my fellow Spotlighteers, as well as WDC membership at large. This will be one of those reviews.

When I arrived at your port, I noticed you had this story highlighted. For that reason, as well as my attraction to other prople's fish stories, I had no choice but to read it. *LAUGH*

Of course, I was not disappointed! You share a lovely story about your fishing experiences with your father and the notion that this tradition of father and son fishing expeditions will be passed along is so touching it makes my heart sing.

As you share of your wide-eyed reaction to his fish story, waiting to ask your question, I was completely engaged and became only more and more so as I read along. By the time I reached the touching conclusion, I was speed reading! I am happy for you that you have such fond memories from your boyhood days.

But it's more than just a simple story.

It rings of the old days when "family" was cool and parents' wisdom was cherished and guarded like the treasure it was - and is. This makes it a must read, and certainly a piece I shall recommend to friends on WDC.

Your writing is so crisp and clean that, even though I did manage to come up with a few suggestions, *ROLLEYES* I could not reference the entire sentences, because I would literally have given away your story. (They are in order, so it should be easy for you to follow them.)

*FLOWER3*   *FLOWER3*   *FLOWER3*

It is my intention to assist in making your wonderful story all that it can be. I am no expert and offer only my opinion. Please accept it or reject it as you see fit. It is your story.
