It has been a while since I've written anything here. Today however marks a landmark occasion for my pursuit of publication. For the first time in too many years to count, I've submitted a manuscript for publication. Understanding that this is mostly an exercise in futility, it nevertheless is a necessary and important step for me and one I needed to memorialize here for myself. My expectations are low but my pride at having completed the process through all the way is great. It was a complicated submission with strict guidelines that afforded me the opportunity to write a synopsis and cover letter and get my manuscript as scrubbed and polished as possible. It could take several weeks before my submission is acknowledged so I've got some time to set my sight on what is next.
