Was it OK for Jesus to have two daddys?
Was it OK for Jesus to have 2 daddys?
2009, June 9

There has been much gnus about gay rights to form partnerships, enter contracts and even marry. *Shock* Time for for some comments! *Smirk*

"Was it OK for Jesus to have 2 daddys?"

A wonderful blog comment I read somewhere! Of course, it may have been acceptable in Nazareth 2,000 years ago, but not in We-R-Baptist, OKlahoma today. God may have made a contract with Mary and Joseph, but Da Baptists know better.

Dick Cheney supports gay marriage... one state at a time.

Oh yes he do! *Laugh* This goes to show how personal experience really matters. His daughter and daughter-in-law surely must be pleased to have his support. He may be a bit of a curmudgeon, but he is their personal curmudgeon. Way to go Dickie!

To win equal marriage--and pursue all other civil rights--LGBT activists and our allies need to slap the Democrats with divorce papers and organize independently. As sex advice columnist Dan Savage would put it: DTMFA--dump the motherfucker already.

Do I hear bitter in this? Or just plain common sense and an attitude of "I-am-not-taking-any-more-of-your-bullshit"? Hmmmm.

Nevada approves domestic partnerships, an all-but-marriage override of the governor's veto.

Joining Calipornia, Calidormia and reluctantly Califarmia. Also: Oregon, Washington and New Hampshire (but probably not for long... marriage looms... as soon as tomorrow). Illinois may be next.

You can't do it here; but, do it elsewhere and come back and it'll be okay.

New York, D.C. (soon), and maybe Maryland (it's being seriously considered by the AG) recognize marriages from other jurisdictions, including same-sex contracts. Whew... all those I've-known-you-for-24-hours Nevada marriages are legal?

I know a couple of women in Kansas who have been together 40+ years and have no recognition, yet two drunken college kids can get hitched with no problem... well, no "moral" problems that is. *Rolleyes*

Fair-and-equal

Loving v Virginia is the key court case that will be argued in favor of allowing recognition of marriage across state lines and effectively will declare DOMA as unconstitutional if Congress doesn't undo it first.

Stonewall

It has been 40 years since the drag queens of NYC sent the police packing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stonewall_riots June 28th marks the beginning of the Gay Rights Movement. The first Gay Pride Parade being held June 28, 1970. This year there is hope in New York for marriage equality. Perhaps Senator Smith is waiting for the anniversary?

40 years is a long time, 2,000 even longer. WWJD? After-all he had two daddys!
