Dealing with e-mail
Fidál (Grace), 14 Rahmat (Mercy), 166 BE – Monday, July 6, 2009 about 9:07 PM Pacific Time

Monday, July 6, 2009 I waisted the entire morning attempting to download 1,495 e-mail messages over a telephone line. The connection dropped about 12:30 PM. That was my second attempt in two days to download those messages; it was my own fault since I had not downloaded those messages since Wednesday. I knew there would be a problem. I knew there was a 95% chance the connection would time out before all the messages were downloaded.

After the connection dropped, I called my service provider and had one of the techs delete all my e-mail off the server. True there were a few message I will never receive, but that is minor to having to go through the process of downloading an ever-increasing amount of messages knowing the connection will drop before the process is complete. I think I will get DSL in August or September. I am too old and I am getting too impatient to wait for the slow downloads.

So what happens, I log into writing.com and find my e-mail box is full. I deleted some messages, but I have to delete more. In fact, I am going to have to go through and clean out that box.
