A Banner Day
Get up, wasn't ready to get out of bed, but I managed to drag my booty from the bed and get the day started. What a dreary start it was. Boys got up and off to school. For the past few days, Zak's been bragging about donating blood, that in doing so he was saving 3 lives. He gave blood at DHS, and it wasn't a great experience. As Zak tells it, he almost passed out. Calls me from the MBC. Why the heck he didn't come home from DHS, I'll never know. So I pick him up, he looks like crap, get him home, load him down with OJ and cookies. I touch his hand as he's lying in bed, and it's ice cold. I check out the handy wrap they put on the puncture spot, and it's wrapped so tight, it's cutting off his circulation. *Shock* I grab scissors and Zak freaks out. Oh yes, the boy actually is afraid of little old me. Once the tape was off of him, he started to feel much better. But, he is playing this up. "Mom, can you get my OJ" like four times now. *Laugh*

So when I pick Danny up, he tells me how Zak passed out at school after donating blood. Yet Zak doesn't remember this. Odd, not! He most likely did pass out, just remembers the coming around part. Now he keeps talking about how he doesn't get to do it again next month at the MBC. UGH. He told me the nurse looked at him like he was nuts for even asking. Ya think?

Seriously, I love my kid. Hugs and much love to my hero, Zak. The boy constantly strives to put others first and makes the world a better place to be in.
