The lamb of March bleats
waiting for the grass to grow
only cactus here
In Las Vegas, March came in like a lamb, a lamb shivering in the last snows of winter, a lamb waiting expectantly for green grass to appear.
All right, I'm in Las Vegas and, despite the fact that we've had more rain so far in 2010 then in all of 2009, we're still experiencing a drought. Green grass is not encouraged because it uses too much water. Desert landscaping is encouraged because it uses less water.
Las Vegas is a city in the desert in the middle of a drought. The only way I can wash my car in my own yard without getting a ticket from the water police is to wait until it rains. My car is now as clean as it's going to get without taking it to a car wash and getting a professional to do the job.

neighbor's front yard.
