It stormed yesterday afternoon----quite refreshing really.  We were sooo hot.  The sun was beating down, humidity high...  It started with a pleasant breeze, then the wind picked up, the sky darkened, thunder rolled in with lightening and the rain began to pelt the earch --- becoming a drenching downpour with huge gusts of wind.  It really cooled things down in a hurry.

We were visiting my sister and her husband for a cookout, cake and ice cream to celebrate his birthday...

[My keyboard is whacking out --- skipping letters, not leaving spaces... I need a new keyboard!]

...anyway, we were chatting and enjoying one another's company when all hell broke loose.  Things cooled off in a hurry.  When the rain soon let up, my parents and I came home to their house.  I scooped my frightened Goober (my sweet tomcat) off the back porch and put his little butt within the safety of the garage.

I have had a very nice week.  I won my unemployment appeal and money should start drifting into my account very soon.  YEAH!  I also received a telephone screening from a potential employer and signed on with an temporary employment service in Fairhope.  (Should find out if the local U.S. Sports Academy wants to take it to the next level and interview me within a few days.)
