Struggling to write poetry

I am struggling to write poetry. I know I can write poems. I have written poem. I have written some good poems. However, lately I seem to be struggling to write poetry. I continue to write poetry, but the poems don't seem to have any emotion.

The problem isn't writer's block, but something else. Perhaps I need to get away from writing poetry and focus on stories or articles. A vacation from writing poetry, this may solve the problem. I don't remember encountering this specific problem before. I have encounter writers' block, but that is different.

I volunteered to read poetry at an office party on August 8. I don't think I will read any new poems, rather I will pick out some of my older poems. I have enough poems written to cover any reading for the next several weeks. I want to solve the immediate problem; I want to know why I am struggling to write poems.
